Picture books — Sara Paint

I like to consider myself as a storyteller. And one of the forms in which I enjoy to tell those stories is through picture books.

I believe the picture book is an incredibly exciting art form to explore the limits of visual storytelling, and not only for children, but for any kind of curious mind that may be looking to dive into new, deep and stimulating worlds.

Me gusta pensar en mí misma como alguien que cuenta historias. Y uno de los mejores medios para contar esas historias es a través de los libros.

El álbum ilustrado es un medio increíble para explorar los límites de lo que podemos contar con imágenes, y no solo para los más pequeños, sino para cualquier tipo de mente curiosa que busque sumergirse en mundos distintos, profundos y emocionantes.

For this kind of projects I pay a lot of attention to detail in order to create worlds that have depth, richness and complexity. I like to play with textures, light and color to achieve warm atmospheres and spaces in which the reader can feel at peace, at home.

Para este tipo de proyectos, siempre trato de prestar mucha atención a los detalles para crear mundos con profundidad, riqueza y complejidad. Me gusta jugar con las texturas, la luz y el color para conseguir atmósferas cálidas y espacios en los que el lector se sienta en paz, en casa.

We usually say that picture books are for kids, but I think they are for the curious.

Over the last years, I have worked on several illustrated books - some of them for children and others for adults. I would love to work on many more!
